Religious Leaders and Elders Affirm Support for Armed Forces and Government Security Efforts

A number of Sufi sheikhs and leaders affirmed their support for the state and the Sudanese Armed Forces during a meeting today (Friday) in Khartoum with President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.

They expressed their support for government efforts aimed at restoring security and stability, as well as preserving Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity.

The Sufi sheikhs and leaders congratulated the President of the Sovereignty Council and the Sudanese people on the return of the government and state institutions to the capital, Khartoum, describing the move as signaling the beginning of a new phase toward restoring normal life and strengthening stability across the country.

The Sufi leaders also affirmed their commitment to promoting social peace and supporting reconciliation and community-cohesion efforts in ways that contribute to achieving security, stability, and peace throughout Sudan.
