Prime Minister Debriefed on Banking Sector Reform Efforts

Sudanese Prime Minister, Kamil Idris, paid a field visit to the Central Bank of Sudan headquarters in Khartoum on Thursday, accompanied by the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza.
During the visit, the prime minister met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Amina Mirghani, and the Deputy Governor, Al-Mutasim Abdullah Al-Faki.
The meeting reviewed the progress made in implementing banking sector reform programs and the efforts aimed at restoring its vitality and performance after the challenges the sector faced in the past period.
The meeting also discussed the sector’s role in supporting reconstruction projects in Khartoum State, including contributing to infrastructure development and the provision of basic services.
The meeting emphasized the importance of the banking sector’s role in revitalizing the housing sector, expanding financing options, and increasing banking penetration in the markets to enhance economic stability in the country.
