Prime Minister Announces Plans for Renovation of Khartoum Refinery

The transitional Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, revealed the development of necessary plans for the rehabilitation of the Khartoum Refinery.

Yesterday, on Friday, the PM observed the extent of the destruction caused by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia to the Khartoum Oil Refinery and the Gari Thermal Power Plant.

The Prime Minister described the visit as historic in every sense of the word, considering the refinery a national asset and an important facility.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the refinery will be restored to better condition than before, saying, “We witnessed the extent of the systematic destruction of all the refinery facilities and the Gari Thermal Power Plant.”

He added, “This national asset will return, and we will learn lessons and morals from it.” He praised the efforts of all the workers who preserved what remained of these facilities, calling for the need to work to preserve human resources, and urging a strong determination and will to preserve these facilities.
