Prime Minister Announces “Government of Hope” Support for Youth and Junior Sports Sector

Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris affirmed that the return of sports competitions to the capital, Khartoum, represents an important step toward social stability and rebuilding national spirit, noting that sports are among the most important tools for national unity.
This came during his address at the Family Club in Khartoum at the launch of the junior, youth, and underage football league competitions across the state’s seven localities, in the presence of Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza, Federal Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Adam, and other officials.
The Prime Minister announced that the “Government of Hope” would strongly support youth and junior programs and work to provide the necessary backing for sports and cultural activities that contribute to building the character of Sudanese youth and preparing them to become exemplary role models around the world.
Idris added that the state views young people as the future of the nation and the foundation of renaissance and development, stressing that real investment begins with caring for rising generations and creating the appropriate environment to develop their abilities and talents.
He also called for transferring Khartoum State’s experience in supporting youth and junior sectors to all Sudanese states so that sports can become a national project contributing to building a generation capable of leading the country toward a better future. He praised the efforts made to successfully launch and organize the league at what he described as a high standard.
For his part, Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza praised the major efforts exerted by the regular forces, security agencies, and all entities that contributed to achieving security and stability and creating conditions for the return of sports, social, and cultural activities to the capital.
The governor reaffirmed the state government’s full support for ensuring the success of the league until its conclusion, noting that sports represent one of the fundamental pillars of building society and promoting values of cooperation, discipline, and fair competition among youth.
He also highlighted the importance of sports in people’s lives, stressing that attention to sports is no less important than service sectors due to its major role in protecting youth from negative phenomena and channeling their energies positively.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ahmed Adam stressed the importance of youth and junior competitions in preparing players and refining their talents from an early stage. He explained that such competitions form the basic foundation from which players advance toward local, regional, and international participation.
The minister added that the ministry would continue working in coordination with state governments and various sports federations to develop sports infrastructure and expand youth participation, contributing to talent discovery and the building of strong national teams capable of representing Sudan honorably in international forums.
