A public opinion poll of Sudanese citizens revealed that 62.9% believe the truce proposed by the Quartet is not the appropriate option at this stage and expressed their rejection of it, while only 35.6% supported it. A small percentage, 1.5%, remained neutral.

The Arab Experts Center for Press Services and Public Opinion Studies conducted a comprehensive online poll over five days to gauge the true public stance on the proposed truce and assess Sudanese perspectives on the initiative.

The poll results, obtained by Sudanhorizon, have confirmed that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) would be the primary beneficiary of the truce, with 62.1% of respondents believing that the Sudanese people would be the biggest beneficiaries if the truce were implemented. A very small percentage (1%) indicated that the Sudanese Armed Forces would be the beneficiaries, while a similar percentage said they did not know.
The poll posed the question of whether the ceasefire constituted indirect recognition of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). 64.4% of respondents answered that the ceasefire did indeed constitute indirect recognition, while 17.3% disagreed, and 15.4% said it represented recognition to some extent. 2.9% said they did not know.
When asked whether they expected the ceasefire to support and legitimize the new “constituent government,” a majority of respondents (57.8%) believed this was highly likely. 24.9% said it was unlikely, while 14.9% considered it probable, and 2.4% said they did not know.
According to the survey results, 62.1% agreed that the Quartet countries lacked the ability or the will to prevent weapons from reaching the Rapid Support Forces during the ceasefire. They asserted that these countries lacked the capacity or the desire to control the flow of arms. Meanwhile, 25.1% believed they could, 9.9% said perhaps, and 2.9% said they did not know.
Furthermore, 68.8% expressed their opposition to the UAE’s participation among the ceasefire sponsors, asserting that the UAE’s involvement in this matter raised serious doubts. 25% supported its participation, the majority of whom were from outside Sudan. 4.5% maintained neutrality, and 1.7% said they did not know
