PM Meets with Norwegian and German Foreign Ministers in Munich

Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris held separate meetings with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide and with the  German Minister for Foreign Affairs, Johan Wadephul, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

During his meeting with the Norwegian minister, Idris expressed Sudan’s appreciation for the Kingdom of Norway’s interest in the developments in the country and its efforts to contribute to achieving peace and ending the war. For his part, the Norwegian Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s support for the unity of Sudan and the achievement of lasting peace and stability.

In his meeting with German Foreign Minister Johan Wadephul, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Germany’s contributions to humanitarian work through UN agencies and programs. Idris reviewed the developments in Sudan and the peace initiative, which reflects the government’s commitment and desire to achieve a just and sustainable peace that ends the war, restores the rights of citizens, achieves reconciliation, and lays the foundation for free and fair elections.

For his part, the German Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s keen interest in the situation in Sudan and its commitment to contributing to ending the war and achieving peace. Both sides also affirmed their desire to restore bilateral relations to their former state of cooperation and prosperity in a way that serves the interests of both countries and peoples.
