Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Muhyiddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, announced the uninterrupted flow of petroleum products despite the circumstances facing the country due to the war.

At a workshop to formulate the vision for the oil sector and chair the Institutional Transformation Project Steering Team, held on Friday in Port Sudan, Muhyiddin announced the launch of the second phase of the project.

The Undersecretary – who is the current acting minister – said that they are working in two directions: extinguishing fires and organizing institutional work. He pointed out that the goal of developing a vision for the oil sector and its operation is to consider it as a vital sector alongside the electricity sector, whose performance rate has increased during the current circumstances, providing service, and maintaining stable electricity supply.

He added that the electricity and oil sectors are global strategic commodities that require qualified competencies and expertise to manage them, away from stereotypes.

Naeem explained that the project targets senior leaders in the oil sector, ensuring quality, and achieving a clear breakthrough in the oil sector.

For his part, Engineer Siddiq Ahmed Al-Hajj confirmed that a critical stage has been reached in achieving a breakthrough and shaping the contours of the oil sector. He added that they are targeting senior leadership and implementing the European model of excellence to achieve the desired successes and mobilize national institutions and the private sector to develop the Sudanese state.
