Nile River Authorities Seize More Than 50 Kilograms of Smuggled Gold

The General Intelligence Service in Atbara has seized more than 50 kilograms of smuggled gold.
The Governor of River Nile State and head of the state security committee, Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid, along with the state’s Director of the General Intelligence Service, Yasir Ali Bashir, and the security committee of Atbara locality, inspected the confiscated gold inside the Intelligence Service headquarters in Atbara.
The Governor stressed the importance of tightening penalties against smugglers and those who undermine the national economy.
He called for the introduction of new legislation and harsher punishments to confront smuggling operations targeting the country’s wealth.
The Governor praised the General Intelligence Service in Atbara for its dedication and loyalty, standing vigilant against all attempts to smuggle the nation’s economic resources.
He pointed out that this is the second time he has witnessed a gold seizure by the Intelligence Service in Atbara, and announced an incentive for all the forces that participated in this operation.
