New Attack on Al-Khawi Repelled, & Darfur Governor Comments

Sudanhorizon – Follow-Up
The governor of Darfur, Minni Arko Minawi, announced the destruction of the remaining Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia forces in the Al-Khawi area of West Kordofan State, following the attack launched this morning in an attempt to retake the town from the Sudanese army.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page and viewed by the Sudanhorizon news website, Minawi said: “The last reserve of the Janjaweed forces attacked our forces this morning in Al-Khawi to restore their dashed dignity.
However, the heroes showed no mercy to the RSF forces. They taught them a lesson that no one is left to forget or remember.”
For two days, fierce fighting has been raging on the Al-Khawi axis, following the advance of Sudanese army forces on two fronts in Kordofan, which led to the army and the joint forces seizing control of the town of Al-Hamadi on the road linking to Dilling in the South Kordofan State.
