Ministry of Finance to Issue Measures for Controlling Illegal Imports

Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim has announced that strict measures and decisions will be enacted to curb illegal imports.
During his meeting with the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Yaqoub, Sunday, the minister emphasized the ban on the entry of imports that do not meet banking procedures and all import controls.
He also revealed a government move to address the congestion at ports, crossings, and outlets and tighten the controls regulating their processing.
It was emphasized that the previously issued measures aimed at controlling the entry of small containers and personal luggage of returnees to their homeland will be implemented.
It is to be mentioned that a higher committee has been formed, headed by the Minister of Finance and including all relevant authorities, to address imports that do not meet the standing control measures.
