Minister of Interior Concludes His Visit to Geneva

The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Police (Ret.) Khalil Basha Sairin concluded his participation in the meetings of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), where he led the Sudanese delegation.
During his time in Geneva, he held a series of important joint and bilateral meetings and delivered Sudan’s statement in the high-level segment of the general debate. He also presented Sudan’s statement at the side event dedicated to Sudan and in the thematic discussion on international refugee protection.
The minister and his accompanying delegation held several meetings with their counterparts, including ministers and heads of participating delegations. In addition, they took part in ceremonial and media activities that accompanied the events. The statements focused on highlighting the scale of violations and atrocities committed by militias against the state and people, reaffirming the government’s commitment to facilitating humanitarian aid access, and urging donors to increase their response levels to address the funding shortfall in the humanitarian response plan developed by the UNHCR.
