Minister of Energy and Oil Calls on China to Expand Strategic Partnerships in Sudan

Dr. Muhyiddin Naeem, Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Oil, has called for greater utilization of the strategic partnership between Sudan and China to expand cooperation in the oil sector and its services.
Addressing the Oil and Gas Equipment Conference and Exhibition, which is currently being held in Xi’an, China, the minister urged China to expand its investments in Sudan’s oil industry. He stressed that the conflict in Sudan is nearing its end due to recent advances by the armed forces and highlighted the longstanding cooperation between Sudanese and Chinese companies in the oil sector.
Naeem encouraged China to increase its investments in both upstream and downstream operations, noting the importance of rehabilitating the oil sector infrastructure damaged by the war.
During his visit, the Sudanese minister also reviewed the capabilities of Baoji Iron & Steel, a subsidiary of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation), and observed China’s technical advancements in developing oil pipeline manufacturing.
