Mineral Resources Company Reveals Gold Export Revenues

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company disclosed that approximately 44 tons of gold were produced in the first nine months of this year, generating $1.18 billion in revenue.
The company’s General Manager, Mohamed Taher Omar, emphasized the need to enhance monitoring and oversight systems for gold to combat smuggling and tax evasion during the executive meeting of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company held on Tuesday in Port Sudan.
Omar stressed the importance of coordinating with relevant authorities to stabilize the mining sector and maximize revenues to support the national economy during this challenging period. He highlighted the need to develop the traditional mining sector and focus on environmental and public safety standards.
Planning Director Sadiq Al-Haj Taha reported that the meeting covered various issues related to mining activities in Sudan. He noted that the total gold production exceeded 44 tons, generating revenues of 229 billion Sudanese pounds and export proceeds surpassing $1.18 billion over the past nine months.
He added that the meeting thoroughly discussed the 2025 plan, developed to address wartime requirements, with operational goals to achieve the company’s desired outcomes.
