Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
Sudan’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Dr. Ammar Al-Sheikh Idris, has announced that the Ministry is implementing a comprehensive digital transformation plan aimed at streamlining procedures, reducing processing times, and improving operational efficiency across its headquarters and state-level offices.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Dr. Idris said digital transformation is one of the Ministry’s key institutional development priorities and will significantly improve the quality and speed of services provided to livestock producers, breeders, and exporters.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bushra Hamad, Director of the Ministry’s Digital Transformation Center, said the Ministry plans to integrate all of its operational requirements into the digital transformation project and is currently working to provide the necessary technical and technological infrastructure, expressing confidence that the remaining requirements will be addressed in the coming period.
Dr. Hamad added that the Ministry is also studying the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into its training and capacity-building programs to keep pace with global developments in the livestock sector and prepare personnel to work with modern digital systems.
He said the digital transformation strategy aims to enhance transparency, reduce direct administrative interactions, and establish a comprehensive and accurate livestock database that will support informed decision-making, strengthen exports, and help open new international markets.
Dr. Idris reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implementing the government’s nationwide digital transformation agenda, describing it as a strategic priority for modernizing the livestock sector and increasing its contribution to Sudan’s national economy.
