Liberal Democratic Party: US Sanctions are a Cheap Blackmail Attempt Aimed at Bringing the Nation to its Knees

Sudanhorizon – Follow-Ups
The Liberal Democratic Party condemned in the strongest terms the systematic US sanctions against Sudan and its blatant claim that the army used chemical weapons. These allegations are mere fabrications lacking transparency and credibility, based on a suspicious deal not supported by evidence or proven by an international investigation. They are a cheap blackmail attempt aimed at bringing the Sudanese nation to its knees in favor of regional and international goals and agendas.
In a statement issued Friday and signed by Dr. Mayada Swar al-Dahab, the party’s president, and seen by the Sudanhorizon news website, the party considered that “any approach aimed at equating the national army, which is fulfilling its constitutional duty to defend its citizens and its homeland, with a terrorist rebel militia supported by foreign mercenaries, clearly reveals the reality of the US administration’s double standards and a clear imbalance in the scales of international justice, given the inability and failure of these bodies to classify the militia as a terrorist organization that has committed crimes and violations, and practiced genocide, ethnic cleansing, sexual violence, and forced displacement.”
The statement added that “the scale of the conspiracy against Sudan is expanding day by day, and it is evident that Sudan is paying the price for its victories on the ground and its defeat of the terrorist rebel militia. The April 15th war was merely one episode in this systematic conspiracy that seeks to divide Sudan and plunder its wealth and resources through the Al-Dagalo militia.”
The statement emphasized that “these sanctions will not break the resolve of the Sudanese people. The army and the people are in the same trench, and together we will overcome all challenges. We will not kneel before conspiracies… and Sudan will remain free and proud.”
