Prime Minister Kamil Idris said that peace achieved according to arrangements accepted by the people, and founded on the principle of human dignity, is among the top priorities of the Government of Hope. Speaking during a televised interview aired Thursday evening, he emphasized a focus on essential services — foremost among them electricity, water, health, and education — in addition to the security and livelihood of citizens.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Government of Hope reaches out to the world through satisfying the Sudanese citizen, affirming that “Citizens First” is the government’s slogan.

He explained that the return of the national capital, Khartoum, to a condition even better than before is one of the key priorities, especially since Khartoum symbolizes the sovereignty of the state.

He stressed that all state institutions, including the Armed Forces, are working together for the return of citizens and the Government of Hope, as well as all components of the civil service, to the capital. He said: “We hope that the government in its entirety will return to the capital by the end of October or early November.”

He affirmed that state institutions are working with strength, harmony, and seriousness to prepare the environment for citizens’ return and to restore the machinery of the state to Khartoum as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister said that the government welcomes peace, that all doors are now open, that the Armed Forces and supporting forces have achieved well-known victories, and that the principles of dialogue have been clearly and transparently designed for both domestic and international audiences in line with the will and dignity of the Sudanese nation, stressing that no peace imposed on Sudan will be accepted.

He stated that the country is now in a strong position and able to finalize matters, provided that all accept what Sudan itself considers to be the grand gateway to achieving peace.
