Kamel Al-Wazir: Egypt is a True Pillar of Support for Arab Nations

Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel Al-Wazir, affirmed that Egypt has always been a steadfast and genuine supporter of all Arab nations.
Speaking at the opening session of the First Egyptian-Sudanese Businessmen Forum, Al-Wazir highlighted President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to work toward resolving ongoing conflicts in Arab countries. He emphasized Egypt’s sense of responsibility toward its Arab neighbours and its commitment to supporting them in overcoming shared challenges.
Regional Stability as a Priority
Al-Wazir stated that fostering regional stability remains one of the government’s top priorities. He underlined the importance of national unity and collaboration in addressing global challenges, noting that cooperation is key to turning crises into opportunities.
He stressed the need for continuous dialogue and mutual efforts to create shared frameworks that advance relations between Egypt and Sudan across all levels, particularly in trade and investment.
Strategic Development Initiatives
Al-Wazir outlined Egypt’s strategic initiatives to position itself as a regional hub for transport, logistics, and transit trade, which is in line with President El-Sisi’s directives. Key initiatives include:
Integrated Development Corridors: Establishing international logistical corridors to connect industrial, agricultural, mining, and service production zones with seaports using fast and secure transportation routes, integrating dry ports and logistical areas.
32 Dry Ports and Logistical Zones: Implementing a comprehensive plan to build 32 dry ports and logistical areas nationwide to link seaports with inland logistical hubs, enhancing trade efficiency.
Enhancing Egypt-Sudan Economic Cooperation: Leveraging the strengths of both economies to boost trade exchanges and mutual development.
Strengthening Egypt-Sudan Ties
Al-Wazir emphasized the unique potential of the Egypt-Sudan partnership, highlighting their ability to benefit from each other’s strengths mutually. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to fostering continuous collaboration and creating a climate of sustained communication with Sudan, paving the way for deeper and more dynamic relationships on all fronts.
The minister affirmed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to build regional stability, stressing that shared efforts and strong partnerships are the foundations for enduring prosperity.
