Kamal Idris Sworn in as PM of the Transitional Civilian Council of Ministers

Dr Kamal Idris was sworn in on Saturday as the civil head of the transitional Council of Ministers, in a ceremony before the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.

The ceremony took place this afternoon (Saturday) in Port Sudan.

The position of Prime Minister of Sudan has been vacant since Dr. Abdullah Hamdok resigned in January 2022. Sudanese political forces and a number of regional and international organizations, led by the African Union and the Arab League, welcomed the step taken by the head of the Transitional Sovereign Council.
