Joint Forces Spokesperson to Sudanhorizon: A New Attack on El Fasher Repelled, While the Militia Rejected the UN-Proposed Truce

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa
The Joint Forces Spokesman, Colonel Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, explained that the city of El Fasher witnessed intense artillery fire from the early hours of Monday morning.
Mustafa said in a statement to Sudanhorizon that this attack was accompanied by some infiltrations from the southern axis of the city.
Adding: “Our forces repelled this infiltration, dealt with it, and resolved the situation.” He emphasized that the situation in El Fasher is now under control, and that the enemy has suffered heavy casualties. He said that those left of the Rapid Support Forces militia dragged their tails and fled.
The official spokesman for the joint forces referred to the truce proposal from UN Secretary-General António Guterres, saying that the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, the Governor of Darfur, and the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements welcomed the proposal. He added that the other party had not issued an official statement or position on the proposal, except for statements from Rapid Support Forces militia advisors that they were not committed to the truce.
He continued: Therefore, we cannot take any step without announcing the other party’s approval.
