Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa

Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, confirmed that the Sudanese government is ready to continue dialogue with the United States of America and receive its special envoy in Port Sudan.

In a special interview with the Sudanhorizon news website, which will be published later, Jaber said that the deployment of UN forces in Sudan legitimizes the militia and not protects civilians, adding that the goal of protecting civilians is not to return the militia from the window, after the people threw it out through the door followed by curses, denying the existence of a problem with the Geneva platform or others, stressing that any way that leads to the implementation of the Jeddah decisions is required and preferred.

He stated “Our options are primarily based on our people, which is his rejection of the militia’s return to existence and political influence, indicating that the Sudanese army is united around the idea of forming a civilian technocratic government to manage the state in the same way that the experiences after October 64 and April 85 were in all aspects, and he added that elections are the way to rule, and this is exactly what Yasser Al-Atta said in his last visit to Atbara, pointing out that some politicians are trying to rely on foreigners, and that the army will be on the lookout for them.

He would continue that Cairo remains the first supporter of the Sudanese people and that the war has made clear to Sudan who are loyal and who are enemies. Commenting on the humanitarian situation in the country, Jaber said that the coincidence of floods and war has cast a heavy shadow on the citizens and the state, adding that the effects of climate change are a disaster that has doubled productivity. He explained that the motive for opening the Adre crossing is the government’s rejection of the principle of politicizing humanitarian work, and he continued that international humanitarian teams are still prevented from entering many areas in Darfur by the militia, adding to its crimes.
