The wider Islamic groups in Sudan, led by Ali Ahmed Karti, have denounced the statement of the quadruple group, describing its language as haughty and blatant interference into the internal affairs of Sudan, trying to impose external solutions that are not accepted by the Sudanese people.
The “Quartet”, which includes the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, issued a joint statement that set a timetable for the approval of a humanitarian truce leading to a ceasefire and a transitional process in Sudan. The group has accused Islamic currents of fueling the war and impeding peace realization efforts in Sudan.
The broad Islamic trend stressed in a statement it issued on Saturday, that the UAE is not morally qualified to talk about security and peace in Sudan after the whole world witnessed its support for the rapid support militia with weapons, resources and mercenaries, to the extent that the country has taken the matter to the Security Council, where Sudan submitted the verifiable documents and strong evidence of the UAE’s involvement in supporting terrorist militia.
The statement argued “Therefore, before talking about peace in Sudan, the UAE should distance itself from the terrorist militia and apologize to the people of Sudan for what it has committed against them and prepares for appropriate compensation to atone for its crime.”
The statement also criticized the American position that turns a blind eye to what is going on in Gaza and its tolerance of the Israeli bombing of Qatar
The statement considered it absurd to try to equate the rebel militia with the Sudanese Armed Forces which are supported by the masses of the honorable people of Sudan.
The Islamic trend stressed that no party in the world will be able to impose RSF militia as a party in any political or military settlement in Sudan.
It pointed out that the only option for the militia is to lay down weapons and withdraw from the cities it occupied before talking about any political or military settlement
For its part, the Popular Congress Party strongly rejected the statement of the Quartet group, adding harsh criticism of the United States and the UAE, and it expressed surprise that America and Saudi Arabia did not act as swiftly to support the implementation of the outcome of Jeddah negotiations.
In a statement Saturday, the party stressed that it does not accept the presence of the UAE in any forum to discuss the issue of the war in Sudan, and thus whatever it produces is not acceptable, “even if it came to be clear of any shortcoming.”
The statement added, “If the UAE recognized that it was leading a war against the Sudanese people and apologized for its mistake and offered compensation for all the sabotage caused by the Daglo militia in Sudan, including the private citizens’ property, then it can be decided to sit with them alone to settle the matter. ”
The Popular Congress said that it rejects any political settlement from abroad, and continued, “After the end of the war and the having crushed the Janjaweed, the Sudanese will hold an all-inclusive conference within their homeland, bringing all people without exception to determine the method of civil Shura rule that suits the country and leads to stability and achieve freedom, justice and peace.”
Furthermore, the forces of the national movement have criticized the quadruple statement about Sudan and said that it has reservations about the presence of the UAE in the group, as it is known for sponsoring the militia and supporting through provision of weapons so that it continue committing violations and crimes against the Sudanese.
It said in a statement signed by the Secretary -General Ali Sharif Al -Hindi on Saturday that, and the UAE membership in the Quartet is depriving the mechanism of its neutrality and it is impossible for the Sudanese people to trust the outputs of their meetings and decisions regarding the crisis Sudan is witnessing.
The forces of the national movement saw that the Quartet statement was framed to the satisfaction of one of its parties that is not qualified for mediation and that documented proving this have been deposited with the United Nations.
In the meantime the National Movement for Building and Development has rejected the UAE’s participation in the Quartet Committee after it was ranked by the Sudanese government as an aggressor state.
It said in a statement that it also objects to equating the legitimate national institutions of the state, especially the armed forces, to the rebel rapid support militia.
It said it considered what was mentioned in the road map regarding military and political measures in the name of humanitarian support, foreign dictates, and is nothing but a blatant interference in the Sudanese domestic national affairs of Sudan, and as such is totally rejected by the national movement.
In turn, the head of the National Congress Party, Ahmed Haron, has stressed that the Sudanese will spare no effort in defending their sovereignty, pride, dignity and preserving their independence, which united them behind and around their army in a coherent national line.
Haron said in a statement in response to the Quartet that the warplanes sent by some states and entities have tested the will of the Sudanese people in defending their sovereignty through the most brutal means of destruction represented by the Rapid Support Militia and that the army has shown legendary model of stability, and he added, “Therefore, there is nothing worse than the horrors of the war that could be used to scare the people of Sudan.”
He added that those who ignited or caused, or are the sponsors of the framework agreement are working on undermining it every day. They are not suitable for the task of extinguishing the fire they set in the first place.
Haron said that placing the National Army and the militia on the same footing and then a reproduction of organizations under any new name, is nothing but an insult to the sacrifices of the people of Sudan.
He said that the militia is an object that cannot be coexisted with, so it must be defeated and eliminated and without that the other option is full surrender and holding accountable its leaders.
Haron described the UAE as a state of aggression and a rogue that has been delegated to ignite wars in the entire Arab world, and it is the one who leads the war against Sudan, adding, “The executioner will not be a ruler, and it will sooner or later pay back the price of its killing and destruction.”
