Governor of Kurmuk: Over 30 Vehicles Destroyed and Dozens of Militia Members Killed in Repelling Attack on Sali

The Governor of Kurmuk, Abdelati Mohamed Al-Faki, stated that the Sudanese Armed Forces and allied units repelled an attack yesterday (Saturday) launched by Janjaweed militias and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu on the Sali area, located about 28 kilometers north of the city of Kurmuk.
In a statement to Sudanhorizon, Al-Faki said the militias suffered heavy losses in both personnel and equipment, noting that more than 30 of their vehicles were destroyed. He added that three combat vehicles were seized in good condition, along with the killing of dozens of militia members.
He also pointed out that the Sali area had witnessed the complete displacement of its residents since the initial attacks it faced in March.
