Finance Minister Presents Economic Vision Document to Chairman of the Sovereignty Council

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
On Monday, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council received the Economic Vision Document for the post-war period, reconstruction, and compensation from the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Jibril Ibrahim Mohamed, at his office in Port Sudan.
The document outlines the state’s economic vision for the post-war and reconstruction phase. It was prepared in five volumes, which included an analysis of the performance of Sudan’s economic environment before and during the war, the contributions of various economic sectors, an assessment of the economic and social devastation caused by the war, a future vision for economic recovery after the war, reconstruction and compensation projects, and policy matrices along with implementation mechanisms for the next three years. Additionally, the document includes four annexes containing the main data, a presentation of the scientific study, a summary of the research paper, and minutes of the committee’s meetings.
The document is expected to be translated into actionable plans, programs, and reconstruction projects nationwide in the coming period through an independent specialised body that will be established.
It is worth noting that the document was prepared by a committee chaired by the Minister of Finance and composed of a number of ministers, undersecretaries of ministries, and relevant units, alongside specialized executives, experts, scholars, and university professors. The committee worked for a full year to complete its task, facing challenges such as weak data and the loss of institutional memory in the government sector due to the war.
