FIFA Allows SFA to Extend Supplementary Registrations Period

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

The Sudanese Football Association has decided to extend the period of supplementary registrations until February 28 to complete all legal aspects internally and externally.

According to a bulletin issued by the association on Sunday, the extension is limited to Premier League clubs. It requires that the clubs of the General League qualifying for the Premier League address the Players’ Status and Transfers Committee after fulfilling the text of Article (2/10) of the Players’ Status and Transfers Regulations for the year 2018, amended in 2022.

The First Vice President of the Association, Osama Atta Al-Mannan Hassan, confirmed that the Board of Directors’ decision to extend the registration period came based on FIFA’s approval of the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to extend the period for the Champions League and Confederation Cup clubs, which began to be implemented, after completing the procedural and legal aspects with the relevant and related parties internally and externally. The period will be for Premier League clubs.

He added: “As for the qualifying clubs, if they wish to register, they must contact the Players’ Status Committee, provided that they meet the requirements of the Players’ Status and Transfers Regulations.”

In press statements, he pointed out that the union seeks to benefit from the extension period approved by CAF for Sudan’s representative, Al-Hilal, in the Champions League, the Premier League clubs, and the General League clubs, indicating that the union will seek to solve all problems.

Atta Al-Mannan noted that “our clubs have the right to benefit from this extension, and we are keen to preserve their rights.”
