Erdogan Optimistic Ahead of Trump Meeting

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has said his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House will cover a wide range of issues between Turkey and the United States.

In a post on his X.com account, Erdogan said his meeting at the White House with his ‘’esteemed friend and counterpart’’, US President Donald Trump, will discuss a wide range of issues, particularly trade, investment, and the defense industry, with the Turkish allay, the United States, with whom his country has extensive strategic relations.

He added that he believed that his meeting with President Trump will contribute to ending wars and conflicts in the region, within the framework of their shared vision for global peace, and that it would strengthen cooperation between their two countries.

US President Donald Trump announced in a social media post on Friday that he would host Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the White House on Thursday.

Trump added that he and Erdogan are working on several trade and military deals, including a Boeing aircraft purchase and a multi-role fighter jet deal.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote: “I am pleased to be hosting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the White House on September 25. We are working with the President on several trade and military deals, including a large purchase of Boeing aircraft, a major F-16 deal, and ongoing F-35 discussions, which we expect to conclude successfully.”
The US president continued that he has always had a very good relationship with President Erdogan and that he was looking forward to seeing him on the 25th .
