Ankara – Sudanhorizon

Sudan’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum announced on Tuesday that it had reached an agreement with Astor, a manufacturer of electrical transformers and substations, to continue cooperation aimed at rebuilding electricity infrastructure damaged by the war.

The announcement came during a visit by Sudanese Energy Minister Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed to the company’s factory in Ankara, where he reviewed the ongoing manufacturing and supply of electrical transformers to Sudan.

Astor is an approved supplier of power grid components for Sudan’s Ministry of Energy. The visit was part of ongoing government efforts to create conditions conducive to the return of citizens to their areas.

During the visit, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between the factory and Sudan’s electricity sector within the framework of the distinguished relations between Sudan and Turkey, and in light of the significant Turkish support for vital sectors in Sudan.

The two parties also agreed to establish a joint coordination mechanism involving the Sudanese Embassy in Ankara and the Sincad Company to undertake all necessary efforts to expedite implementation.
