Egyptian Government Condemns the RSF Militia’s Targeting Of Civilians in North Darfur

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday strongly condemned the Rapid Support Forces’ attack on Mustariha area, North Darfur State, which resulted in a number of civilian casualties and injuries, as well as the destruction of the only health facility in the area and the further aggressions on the medial staff.
In a statement, Egypt affirmed total rejection of all forms of violence and violations against civilians and medical facilities, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The Foreign Ministry stressed the need for respecting and protecting health facilities and medical personnel at all times.
The Ministry reiterated Egypt’s firm stance on the crisis in Sudan, foremost among which is its commitment to the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Sudanese state, and rejection of any attempts to undermine its national institutions or threaten its cohesion.
The statement also emphasized the importance of reaching an immediate humanitarian truce as a prelude to a sustainable ceasefire and prioritizing comprehensive political solutions that meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
Egypt also affirmed its continued efforts at the regional and international levels to support efforts to end the conflict in Sudan, particularly its work within the framework of the Quartet, and to enhance the humanitarian response and ensure safe and sustainable access for aid to affected areas, thereby alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people, according to the statement.
