Drone Strike on “Sudan Shield” Parade in Al-Gezira Causes Deaths and Injuries

Tamboul – Sudanhorizon
At least three people were killed and others wounded on Wednesday when a drone targeted a military parade held by Sudan Shield Forces in the Tamboul area, east of Al-Gezira State in central Sudan.
Eyewitnesses told Sudanhorizon that army anti-air defenses engaged drones launched by the Rapid Support Forces militia against the military celebration marking the Army Day anniversary.
According to the witnesses, initial losses recorded amounted to three dead and nine injured, who were transferred to the military hospital in Wad Madani.
Sudan Shield Forces commander Abu Aqla Kikil, in a video released after the attack, downplayed its impact, describing it as “the convulsions of the slaughtered,” adding that the drones would only increase their determination.
He stated that the reserve forces participating in the parade would be immediately deployed to the battlefronts in Kordofan to end the siege of El Fasher.
For his part, the Sudan Shield Forces spokesperson said in a statement:
“In continuation of its vile and aggressive approach, the Daqlo militia did not hesitate to target the celebration of the 71st anniversary of the Armed Forces with a drone.”
He reported that the attack resulted in “the martyrdom and injury of a number of citizens, including three children.”
