Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council Briefs Museveni on Sudan’s Situation

Kampala – Sudanhorizon
Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on the sidelines of regional meetings monitoring the Framework Agreement for Security, Peace, and Cooperation in the Great Lakes Region, held in Kampala, Uganda’s capital.
In a press statement, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin clarified that the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council briefed President Museveni—who currently chairs the regional mechanism—on the latest political and military developments in Sudan, including the appointment of a new prime minister and the anticipated formation of a government in the coming period.
The meeting also addressed the regional implications of the war waged by the rebel terrorist militia against Sudan and the external support it has received.
Ambassador Al-Amin noted that the Deputy Chairman expressed Sudan’s hope that President Museveni, as the new head of the regional mechanism, would play an active role regarding Sudan’s situation—given its strategic importance in a region increasingly concerned about the exploitation of security instability by destabilising movements.
