Democratic Bloc Forms Committee to Submit Vision for Upcoming Parliament Within 72 Hours

The Democratic Bloc, during its first meeting held on Thursday in Khartoum, discussed the formation of a committee tasked with developing a comprehensive vision for the establishment of the anticipated Transitional Legislative Council. The bloc affirmed its commitment to national consensus and joint action in a manner that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people and contributes to achieving stability and building a state of freedom, peace, and justice.

During the meeting, the bloc decided to appoint prominent leader Mubarak Ardol as head of the committee, which will be responsible for preparing the proposed framework for forming the Legislative Council and submitting it to the bloc within 72 hours.

In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Ardol explained that the committee consists of five members from the Democratic Bloc and will work on developing a comprehensive vision addressing the number of council members, the method of their selection, and all details related to the formation of the anticipated parliament.

He added that once the proposal is completed, the bloc will begin engaging with other political forces to discuss it, stressing that the goal is to form a legislative council grounded in the current political realities and capable of leading the democratic transition.
