Darfur Governor: RSF Militias Retreat in Disgrace from Al Fashir

The Darfur Region Governor, Minnie Arko Minawi, has announced the failure of a Rapid Support Militia attack launched on Thursday against Al -Fashir, capital of the region in west of the country
Minawi said has posted a tweet on his account on X platform on Friday in which he announced “The Janjaweed militia threats against the people of Al Fashir, has hit a collided against solid rock this morning. The militias attacked the town from five directions, concomitantly. But the Armed Forces and the joint Popular Resistance taught them a lesson and sent them back in disgrace.”
Minawi added: “Our forces are monitoring and observing: we are ready anytime they attempt to repeat this.”
Two days ago, a spokesman for the rebel Rapid Support Militia threatened the residents of Al-Fashir and gave them an ultimatum to evacuate, and the city was subjected to intensive sustained shelling in which all types of heavy weapons were used.
The total number of coordinated attacks on Al Fashir has now reached more than 170 attacks, for which the Rapid Support Militia mobilized its best fighters and field commanders, many of whom were killed, most notably the commander of the Darfur sector in the militia, Ali Yaqoub.
