Central Darfur Governor Shares State’s Reality and Addresses Sudanese People

The Governor of Central Darfur State, Commander Mustafa Tambour, called for urgent humanitarian intervention to provide relief to the state’s citizens. Noting that the militia is preventing humanitarian convoys from reaching the citizens.
The governor pointed out that the economic and humanitarian situation in the state is extremely fragile, and there is a severe shortage of basic necessities due to the closure of markets as a result of the militia’s prevention of commercial convoys.
In an interview with the Sudanhorizon news website, the governor noted that the militia has seized most of the state’s cities and committed major crimes against civilians, in addition to the systematic destruction of infrastructure.
He indicated that they are now committing their crimes against the citizens through kidnapping and demanding large sums of ransom from their families.
Commander Mustafa Tambour noted that the state authorities, in full coordination with the governments of River Nile and Northern states, were able to enroll a number of students to sit for the postponed Sudanese Certificate exams for the year 2024. He confirmed that arrangements are currently complete to return them to their families after the exams, in close coordination with the governments of the two states and the Federal Ministry of Education.
In another context, Tambour described the appointment of Dr. Kamil Idris as Prime Minister as an important step, especially given the country’s prolonged executive vacuum. He said that Idris’s appointment came at the right time, describing him as a professional man who had begun his government’s mission on the right footing.
He stated that the Sudanese people are optimistic about the government of hope, and he expected that Kamil Idris’s government would focus, in addition to supporting the course of military operations, on rebuilding and reconstructing what was destroyed by the war. The governor of Central Darfur called on the national forces to work to support the government and provide it with political support.
At the end of his talk to Sudanhorizon, Mustafa Tambour sent a message to the Sudanese people, saying that great sacrifices were made since the outbreak of the war in April 2023, stressing that the country has begun to regain its health and stability, and that the state needs the support of its people more than ever, warning that the conspiracy against the country from within and without is great and that there are many entities lurking in Sudan and working to dismantle it, and that the people must work to fortify their country against these conspiracies and threats by maintaining national unity and blocking the path to all attempts at dismantling it.
