As the currency replacement deadline approaches, the Central Bank of Sudan has revealed a significant rise in deposits and cash inflows for the 1,000-pound and 500-pound denominations across all banks.
The Currency Replacement Operations and Monitoring Committee at the Central Bank concluded a tour on Wednesday to inspect the progress of the currency exchange process in various banks.
During the tour, the committee ensured the availability of counterfeit detection machines and that banks could access alternative power sources to address potential disruptions.
The Currency Replacement Operations and Monitoring Committee chairman urged bank managers to facilitate online account openings, promote the use of electronic payment methods, and enhance the functionality of banking applications to streamline the process and reduce congestion.
