Preparatory workshops for the Second Egypt-Sudan Business Forum will kick off next Tuesday in Cairo, under the auspices of the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian-Sudanese Development and Multi-Services Company.

The first workshop will address opportunities and challenges in the food and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors, serving the interests of both nations.

The forum comes within the framework of the eternal ties and common destiny that unite Sudan and Egypt, in line with the directives of the leadership of both countries to strengthen economic integration, expand avenues of bilateral cooperation in support of regional integration, and build on the achievements of the first forum held on November 23, 2024, under the patronage of Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Industry, Lt. Gen. Kamel El-Wazir, with active participation from ministers, officials, and experts from both countries.

A statement issued by the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian-Sudanese Development and Investments Company explained that the second edition of the Egypt-Sudan Business Forum will be held in December this year in Cairo, in cooperation with a number of partners, experts, specialists, and business leaders from both countries.

The statement noted that the forum aims to explore investment opportunities between the two countries and create new partnerships that enhance economic cooperation, by bringing together official leaders, businessmen, investors, and experts from Egypt and Sudan, while working to sustain the forum as a strategic platform capable of advancing bilateral economic partnership to broader horizons.

The statement added that the second edition, as a joint economic platform, provides a valuable opportunity to manage meaningful dialogue to strengthen economic and trade cooperation channels between the two countries through innovative approaches. Ahead of the main event, a series of selected workshops will be held to discuss proposed areas of cooperation.

The activities will continue with preparatory workshops focusing on cooperation opportunities in the mining and natural resources sectors, logistical solutions for cross-border trade, as well as initiatives supporting the reconstruction of Sudan and mechanisms for their implementation. Discussions will also include issues related to banking and financial integration between the two countries.
