Cabinet Reviews Developments in the Country, Arrangements for Return to Khartoum

The Cabinet held its regular meeting on Monday chaired by Prime Minister Kamil Idris.In attendance were the ministers, the Governor of Darfur, and the Governor of the Red Sea State.
The Secretary-General of the Cabinet in statement said the the meeting commended the efforts of the Armed Forces and other security forces supporting them in the Battle of Dignity and their role in defending the land and honor. The Cabinet also heard several briefings concerning the overall situation in the country.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Lamia Abdel Ghaffar, presented a report on the government’s return and relocation in Khartoum, in addition to a briefing on the situation of displaced persons from El Fasher in the Northern State.
The Cabinet directed that urgent attention be given to addressing the health and educational conditions at the IDPs shelter areas.
The meeting also heard a detailed report on combating drugs and smuggling, presented by the Minister of the Interior. The meeting praised the efforts of the anti-narcotics and anti-smuggling forces and directed that the said forces be provided with an incentive for its outstanding performance.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers explained that the meeting reviewed a report on the electricity and fuel situation in the country, presented by the Minister of Energy and Oil, and that it praised the great efforts made by workers in the electricity and oil sectors.
