The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has commended the Armed Forces’ Mobile Command which he said played a significant role in directing and managing operations during Operation Dignity.
Gen Burhan noted that this unit assisted in liberating the General Command and areas of Omdurman from the siege imposed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia.
During an Ramadan Iftar organized by the Mobile Command on Wednesday, Burhan praised the great roles of the Gulf States and their generous support for Sudan. He affirmed the Sudanese government’s solidarity with them and its condemnation of any attacks against them or infringements upon their sovereignty.
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council added that Sudan will not allow any group to speak on behalf of SAF or the Sudanese government on matters and issues that are not their concern, and will not tolerate the exploitation of any space for freedom or celebration to harm the Sudanese people.
Referring to statements by a commander of one of the Mujahideen fighting alongside the armed forces, Burhan affirmed, “We will stand against what this group did yesterday, and against anyone who supports or stands with them.” He emphasized that Sudan also stands against all those who encourage aggression against Arab brothers in various parts of the world.
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council stressed that Sudan is a peaceful country striving for peace, and warned, “We caution anyone who dares to harm the Sudanese state that there will be no leniency for them, and they will face the consequences.”
