Burhan Attacks Boulos, Says the Sudanese Government Will Not Accept His Proposals

The Chair of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has stated that the paper presented by the Quartet through US Presidential Advisor Mosad Boulos is the worst paper ever presented, as it eliminates the role of the Sudanese Armed Forcesd (SAAF), demands the dissolution of all Sudanese official security agencies, and allows the rebel militias to remain in their areas.
In his meeting Sunday with senior officers of the armed forces, Burhan explained that if the mediation continues in this direction, then it would be considered by the Sudan as “biased.”
Burhan directed harsh criticism at Boulos, saying that he wants to impose solutions.
Burhan has added, “We fear that Mossad Boulos is an obstacle before the peace that all the people of Sudan seek.”
He pointed out that Boulos is making threat remarks and talking about the government obstructing the delivery of humanitarian assistance convoys and claims that it has used chemical weapons.
Burhan said, “We say to him that this paper of yours is unacceptable,” emphasizing the need to adopt the road-map as presented by the Sudanese government.
He stressed that “No one in the Sudan will accept the presence of these rebels or their inclusion as part of any future solution.”
Al-Burhan clarified that the statements made by Boulos are merely echoes of the propaganda of Sumoud, Tassis and the militias. Furthermore, Burhan added, Boulos speaks on behalf of the UAE and makes decisions regarding the future of the political process, which is a purely Sudanese-Sudanese question.
