BREAKING: ICGLR Condemns RSF’s Move to Establish Parallel Government in Sudan

The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) has issued a strong condemnation of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and affiliated groups over their controversial announcement on 26th July 2025, declaring the formation of an alternative government in territories under their control.

In an official statement released today from its headquarters in Bujumbura, the ICGLR Executive Secretariat expressed “deep concern” over the move, warning that it threatens Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The regional body emphasised that the RSF’s unilateral action risks undermining ongoing peace efforts led by regional and international mediators.
