Blinken To Discus Sudan Issue During Visit To Vatican & Italy

U.S State Department Spokesperson, Mathew Miller, on Thursday pointed out that the developments in the Sudan would be one of the issues Secretary of State , Antony Blinken, will discuss during his visit to Italy and the Vatican , slated for Saturday
The Spokesperson pointed out in a terse statement that Secretary Blinken would travel to Anakin and Figgie, Italy and Vatican City, from November 23-27. In Anakin and Figgie, the Secretary will attend the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to discuss a range of issues with partners, “including conflicts in the Middle East, Russia’s war against Ukraine, Indo-Pacific security, and the ongoing crises in both Haiti and Sudan.”
He said following that meeting Secretary Blinken will travel to Vatican City for a meeting with Pope Francis, Cardinal Parolin, and Cardinal Gallagher to discuss pressing international concerns, including the Middle East and Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
It is to be noted that the US Special Envoy to the Sudan, Tom Perriello, had paid a visit to Italy following a short visit to each of Sudan and Djibouti, last week.
