Banks Union: Currency Replacement Addresses the Imbalance that has Affected the Banking System
Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The head of the Sudanese Banks Union, Abbas Abdullah Abbas, said that banks are spearheading the currency replacement project.
He revealed in a press statement on Saturday that the banks have fulfilled their obligations and commitments to make the currency replacement project a success. He considers it a national concern that addresses the imbalance that has affected the banking system as a result of the theft and looting that the banks have been exposed to.
Abbas explained that the replacement helps besiege the looted currency, combat counterfeiting and forgery, and improve the country’s economy while integrating citizens into the financial inclusion system.
Abbas called on citizens to open an account in any of the banks in the states targeted by the replacement and deposit their money in it before the end of the replacement period to preserve their money. This money will no longer be cleared of liability after the specified date, so citizens can then transfer it to the bank they want through the Siraj system.
