At Least 60 Killed… RSF Commits Horrific Massacre in El Fasher

El Fasher – Sudanhorizon

At least 60 civilians were killed and dozens injured in air and artillery strikes carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Friday and Saturday targeting a displacement shelter in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

The spokesperson for the Zamzam Camp for Displaced Persons, Mohamed Khamis Doda, said on Saturday that “a drone launched by the militia today (Saturday) struck the Dar Al-Arqam School, killing 37 civilians, some of whom were burned alive inside the classrooms.”

Doda added that the same center had been targeted the previous evening (Friday) by artillery shelling that hit underground shelters where displaced people had taken refuge, resulting in the deaths of at least 30 people.

Witnesses reported that the bombardment was carried out using drones and heavy artillery, destroying large parts of the center, which hosts hundreds of displaced people, mostly women, children, and the elderly.

In a statement on Saturday, the El Fasher Resistance Coordination said that the death toll from the Dar Al-Arqam massacre had risen to over 60 unarmed civilians, who were killed after being targeted by two drones and more than eight incendiary shells. The statement described scenes of scattered bodies as “beyond description.”

The remaining residents of El Fasher are enduring extremely dire humanitarian conditions, with most forced to stay inside underground shelters or large metal containers constructed by international organizations and local volunteers to protect them from continuous air and artillery attacks.

The Dar Al-Arqam Center, which was targeted in the assault, houses more than 150 displaced families who are suffering from severe shortages of food, water, and medical care, amid an almost complete absence of security due to the ongoing fighting.
