Ambassador Omar Sidiq Confirms Resignation as Sudan’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs

Sudan’s State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Omar Sidiq, on Wednesday confirmed that he has tendered his resignation from office.
In a message shared via the messaging platform WhatsApp, Sidiq stated that he had stepped down from his position as State Minister of Foreign Affairs, “leaving the space for my brother, colleague, and friend, Ambassador Mohieddin Salem, to steer Sudanese diplomacy during this critical and exceptional period.”
He extended his gratitude to Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, all members of the Council, and the former Cabinet for unanimously nominating him as Foreign Minister.
Sidiq also thanked Prime Minister Kamil El-Tayeb Idris for including him in the Cabinet of the “Government of Hope.”
