Algerian President: Our Relations Are Good with All Arab States, Except One

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed on Saturday that Algeria’s relations are good with all Arab countries except for one state (without naming it) that constantly tries to stir up trouble and interfere in the country’s internal affairs.
During his regular press briefing, President Tebboune addressed several national, regional, and international issues, according to Algerian media reports.
Tebboune stated that “Algeria’s relationship with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, and Qatar is strong and more than fraternal. What affects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia necessarily affects us because we share a common history.”
He added: “We have a long history with Egypt, and President Sisi is like a brother to me. When Algeria was betrayed and attacked in 1963, the first to rush to Algeria’s aid was the Egyptian army. And when Egypt needed military support, the late President Houari Boumediene was the first to respond and spared no effort.” The Algerian president explained that “Mauritania is free in its relations, and we do not impose any conditions in our relations with other countries. Furthermore, Algeria shares a common history with Mali, even though they rejected Algerian mediation.” He then warned the Malian leadership, saying, “But beware of being misled by certain self-serving calls.”
Regarding Libya, the Algerian president affirmed that his country is always striving to preserve Libya, calling for elections where the ballot box will have the final say. He also spoke about the extensive diplomatic efforts Algeria is undertaking with numerous sister and friendly nations, highlighting the development of Algerian-American relations. He noted that “Algeria enjoys strong ties with the United States, and Advisor Massad Boulos possesses expertise in Africa and the Arab world.” He further commended Ségolène Royal, president of the France-Algeria Association who recently paid a visit to Algeria, for her courage and candor. Concerning relations between Algeria and France, Tebboune stated, “The conditions set by the French Interior Minister regarding his visit to Algeria are his own concern and do not concern us. Anyone who seeks to belittle or insult Algeria is yet to be born.”
