Al-Khidr Warns Against Fabricated Statements Campaigns, Emphasizes Focus on Supporting the Army

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

Former Khartoum Governor and National Congress Party leader Abdelrahman Al-Khidr on Tuesday denied statements recently circulated by some parties and online platforms that were attributed to him and to a number of leaders of the National Congress Party and the Islamic Movement.

In a statement received by Sudanhorizon, Al-Khidr described the remarks attributed to him as contradictory on several issues.

He explained that his media silence and prolonged absence from making public statements is an approach he has adopted, like other party leaders, based on considerations aimed at avoiding confusion in the political scene, while fully adhering to leaving media matters to the authorized الجهات.

Al-Khidr stressed that the top priority at this stage is mobilizing support and backing for the armed forces in what he described as the country’s “existential battle.” He noted that the party’s official positions are publicly available through documents and statements issued by its institutions, specifically mentioning the document titled “Proposed Future Agenda,” which outlines the party’s vision for the present and the future.

He called on social media activists and publishing platforms to exercise accuracy and credibility and to consider national responsibilities in reporting and publishing, in order to avoid serving misinformation agendas.
