Al-Burhan’s Exuberant Welcome at Al-Neelain University

Students, faculty, staff, and workers of Al-Neelain University warmly received the President of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Saturday with chants, ululations, and takbirs during his brief visit to the university’s examination center at the Faculty of Economic and Social Studies in Khartoum.

Crowds of students, staff, workers, and professors gathered around the Sovereign Council President, greeting him with chants of “One People, One Army” and “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar,” as he toured some of the faculty’s buildings and examination halls.

General Al-Burhan told Dr. Khalid Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Studies, that they had been closely following the activities of Al-Neelain University and its return to functioning from inside Khartoum with great appreciation and admiration. He praised the university administration’s efforts in serving students across various faculties and noted that his visit aimed to check on the university’s operations and its resumption of activities following its return to the capital. He extended greetings and congratulations, through the dean, to the university’s administration and all its members, including students and staff.

For his part, Dr. Khalid Hamid, Dean of the Faculty and Chair of the University Premises Security Committee, thanked the Sovereign Council President for the visit. He provided a detailed briefing on the efforts of the university’s senior administration, along with the Councils of Deans and Professors, during the past period. He also noted that the university had opened fifteen examination centers inside and outside Sudan to accommodate students continuing their studies through the university’s online platforms. The dean added that the university’s headquarters in Khartoum now hosts the sixteenth center, where 1,100 students from various faculties are currently sitting for their make-up exams after being unable to attend previous sessions.
