Al-Burhan Welcomes New Ministers and Issues Instructions

General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces received three newly appointed ministers in his office in Port Sudan on Thursday.
During the meeting, which was not attended by the Minister of Culture and Information, Al-Burhan directed the ministers to enhance Sudan’s foreign relations, serve the country, and protect its supreme national interests. He emphasized the importance of ensuring essential goods, improving citizens’ living standards, and promoting unity in public discourse to reject racism and harmful societal practices, according to a statement by the Transitional Sovereignty Council’s media office.
The meeting included the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Religious Affairs and Endowments, and Trade and Supply.
In a press statement, Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Youssef Ahmed Al-Sharif described the meeting as positive and fruitful and highlighted the general directives for the ministries’ work in the coming period.
The Foreign Minister affirmed his ministry’s commitment to working and coordinating as a unified team with a cohesive vision to achieve the goals of the next phase.
Trade and Supply Minister Omar Ahmed Mohamed Banfeir explained that the meeting covered the ministry’s core tasks, plans, programs, and future projects, with a focus on providing essential goods, improving living standards, and addressing issues facing the export sector. He noted that the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council promised to address all challenges facing the ministry to ensure it fulfils its duties effectively.
Meanwhile, Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Dr Omar Bakhit Mohamed Adam briefed the Chairman on his ministry’s plans and projects for the coming period. He added that the meeting discussed the need to activate the ministry’s role in endowment, pilgrimage, and Umrah affairs and unify public discourse in all forums to reject racism and harmful customs in society.
