Al-Burhan: Sudanese People Deserve Justice

On Wednesday, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, joined Christians in celebrating Christmas at the Catholic Church in Port Sudan. He was warmly received by a large gathering, including the Red Sea State governor, several officials, and Christian clergy.
In his address, Al-Burhan expressed his joy at participating in the celebrations of the birth of Jesus Christ, saying, “We pray to God that this occasion passes while our country enjoys the peace that Jesus carried as his message.” He lamented the injustices and tragedies the Sudanese people are enduring, asserting that they do not deserve such suffering.
Al-Burhan voiced his hope that Sudan will witness peace and stability by the next Christmas.
He praised the contributions of the historic Catholic Church in Sudan, acknowledging its role in supporting the country’s independence and strengthening the Sudanese state.
The general called for adherence to the values of divine religions that promote love and peace.
