Al-burhan Issues Instructions to Fly the National Team to Benghazi

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-burhan, directed the allocation of a plane to transport the Sudanese national football team from the Ghanaian capital, Accra, to the Libyan city of Benghazi to play the fourth round in the African Nations qualifiers.
A press statement issued on Friday by the Sudanese Football Association said that Al-burhan praised the victories achieved by the team and stressed the leadership’s keenness to overcome the obstacles facing athletes.
He also stated that the team represents a national symbol that embodies the fighting spirit and sacrifice for the sake of Sudan.
For his part, the Chairman of the Sudanese Football Association, Dr. Moatasem Jaafar, thanked the state agencies for their interest in the national teams despite the difficult circumstances that the country is experiencing, and praised the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council for his initiative and keenness to provide the best conditions for the national team and consider the players of the national teams like the fighters in the battle of dignity in defense of land and honor.
Jaafar stressed that allocating the plane will boost the players’ morale and put them in a better position to continue the tournament.
The Sudanese national team tied negatively on Thursday evening with Ghana on its home ground and in front of its fans in the third round of the African Nations Cup qualifiers for Group Six, and raised its score to 4 points, and will play the fourth round in its virtual stadium in Benghazi against Ghana next Tuesday, as Group Six includes, in addition to Sudan, the teams of Niger, Angola and Ghana.
