Ahmed Gasim Hospital Celebrates a Milestone in Kidney Transplant Surgeries

Ahmed Gasim Hospital for Cardiology and Kidney Transplantation celebrated on Saturday the successful completion of 14 kidney transplant surgeries, marking a significant medical achievement following the hospital’s return to service after suffering extensive damage and destruction during the recent conflict.
The hospital’s Director General, Dr. Huda Hamid, said the achievement was the result of tremendous efforts by the entire hospital staff.
“Our hearts are filled with gratitude and praise to Almighty God for this accomplishment,” she said. “We lived through days filled with anxiety, and today we are experiencing immense joy and happiness following the success of these transplant operations, which were made possible by the dedication and tireless work of our medical teams.”
Dr. Hamid emphasized that the successful surgeries send a clear message that Ahmed Gasim Hospital will continue to serve as a beacon of healthcare and healing. She expressed her appreciation to the Federal Minister of Health, the Governor of Khartoum State and his government, the Acting Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health, all ministry staff, and the hospital’s personnel for their patience and efforts in restoring medical services.
She also extended special thanks to the physicians, specialists, and organ donors, particularly Dr. Abdulrahman Abdelwahab, a consultant in internal medicine and cardiology, praising their role in ensuring the success of the kidney transplant program under these exceptional circumstances.
The hospital administration honored the specialists who performed the transplant surgeries. Attendees also stood in recognition and appreciation of the organ donors, Dr. Huda Hamid, Dr. Abdulrahman Abdelwahab, and all the medical personnel whose dedication contributed to this achievement.
