Ahead of AU Summit… Al-Burhan Sends a Message to Mauritania’s President

Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, handed over to Mauritanian Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Ajay a written message from the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, to President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, in the capital Nouakchott, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy, Dr. Abdul Hamid Bushra.
The message deals with the developments of the situation in Sudan, which will be discussed during the African Summit, whose preparatory work will begin this Friday, by a meeting of the African Peace and Security Council at the summit level, followed tomorrow by a meeting of African foreign ministers that will approve the summit topics.
Mauritania chairs the African Summit in the session that will conclude in two days, where a new head for the African Union Commission will be elected and the presidency of the Union Summit will be transferred to Angola, where President João Lourenço will replace Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania.
In Nouakchott, Lieutenant Gen. Jaber held joint discussions on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop and enhance joint cooperation between them in all fields, in addition to issues of mutual interest.
